P.S. I am going to try and get pictures uploaded soon!

Rain

Well it started to rain here yesterday and they are praising God for it. It has not rained here for several months! They say when it starts to rain here it rains for several days before it stops, this is the second day of rain! It has postponed us from laying more blocks at the church but they are in need of rain more! Yesterday Charles went and picked up Janice. She is from Florida and will be here in South Africa for four years! She is an RN and will be working with AIDS around this area and whatever else is needed! Health professionals in the villages is hard to come by. It is nice hearing from you guys, I enjoy your words of encouragement. Yesterday I spent all day welding together metal trusses for another structure that has been purchased by a church in the States. Hope all is well ! Miss you COWS !

Concrete, Blocks, Heat!

Well I am sorry for this short post! but internet is not working the best but is to be fixed this next week. We have gotten lots done on the church we are currently working on. We have most of the floor poured and are starting to block up the walls. It has turned warm here the past couple of days have been mid 90's but it is dry heat. Everday that we are working at the church the women make us food! They are good cooks. They know how to make chicken! I am learning that construction here is much more labor intensive and takes a little bit longer to do things! I got to speak and share a little in the church service today by the new church we are building, it was great seeing the Love that they have, that I can come all this way around the world and have church praising the same God! Amen! They know how to "do church" here! Well this is it for now. I am praying for you guys! ttyl

Hello

Yes I am in Plaston, South Africa! I made it! I think I have finally gotten over the jet lag! It is so wonderful here! Charles, Tammy, and their son DJ are very nice. I have a cottage by their house that I am staying in. (the internet is not to reliable here, I had to go to internet cafe in town). It was an interesting experience going through all the airports and planes to get here. (Praise: my bags were over the weight limit by 26kg and they let them go through with out me having to pay!) In the airport I got to pray and have lunch with a older man who is homeless. Please pray for him, his name is Samuel, he lives in the airport and eats whatever people give him, he is not a beggar type person, he was very sweet man!
Charles and I have started to work on the two churches that we need to finish before I leave here. They are block masonry buildings with a steel structure, very nice when done! Everything is made at Charles house including the concrete blocks, steel trusses, and doors and windows! It is a different way of doing construction here but I am catching on! The weather is sunny and mid 70's right now, it is just coming into spring/summer here! There are lots of opportunities for me to be used here! Praise the Lord!

England!

Hello Everyone! I have made the first half of my trip to South Africa. I had a 13 hour layover in London and a friend from Chicago had some friends in England who came and picked me up at the airport this morning at 7 am. They live in Sussex, England and they run and Bible training institute, I have met and gotten to speak to students from at least 6 different countries! I have now been up for over 24 hours but expect to sleep on the 12 hour flight tonight at 7pm to South Africa. Thank you all for your prayers and support it has been overwhelming with the blessings of the Lord! Well time to head back to London! (I will share more about this part latter)

This Blog

I would just like to give credit where credit is due. I had set up this blog about a couple of months ago but I had not nor did I know how to get all of the stuff onto it. I mentioned to my friend Michele that if she could show me how to set it up I would be open to that. A week or two went by and it never worked out for her to show me, so she offered that she would set it up for me and I said sure! So everthing on this blog was put together by her. She did an awesome job and make sure to check out the video up in the upper-left, just click on the top picture. Thanks so much Michele !!

This is where your posted comments will go Jarod. I hope you like your blog. The Lord did it. I didn't even know I had a video maker on my computer until last night when I put this together. It was totally Jesus---the creator of all things---including computers! I'm so excited for you Jarod. I am even more excited to hear about everything when you get back. You will be protected. The picture at the bottom of the angel and verses that go along with it has really been speaking to me. WE are surrounded. Love ya-----Michele!
