Thank you for all your prayers and support! I have made it back to Chicago safely with all my luggage! I thank the Lord for everything that He accomplished over these past 6 weeks!

I have made it to Amsterdam! My next flight to Chicago boards in 3 hours. It was a great flight last night. I got lots of sleep, when I went to check-in online yesterday, there was an exit seat open so I took it. That was my first time having an exit seat and boy was that sure nice. I put my carry-on in front of me and used it like a foot rest! I stretched out and slept like a baby!

This is Santiago, He was a lot of help!! He is in his third year of school. There were many other students that also helped us along the way.

Hello everyone!! Well we finished the project!! Praise the Lord!! It turned out way better than I had expected. Some of us have had to put in some long hours of work this past week but it is well worth it, to bless the students there! I am back in Pretoria now, I will be here with Steve at his house all day and then my flight leaves tonight at 11:30pm (South Africa time). I will be back in Chicago Friday evening. Please be praying for my safety while flying over these next several hours! I know I won't have any problems sleeping on the plane, I am wiped!

Today Lee and I finished putting the new roof on the Restroom building. We got an early start to the day by starting work at 6 am. So we have all three new roofs on now! The team has been busy painting and laying tile and grouting the tile. I also have been working on roughing in the new electrical wiring for new lights in the restrooms, dorm rooms, and we are going to be adding security lighting to each corner of the buildings. 

I left work early today because I was invited out to a Bria (I think thats how you spell it, its like a BBQ) by some South Africans who work in the Building Material store where we have been buying our material for the project. Over the last several weeks I have built a friendship with them and they invited me out one day I was in the store. There was a total of four of us tonight. They were between the ages of 22-26, one of them is a Christian so that was great talking to him and the other two were not. We got on a couple different subjects that led to them sharing some things that they are having problems with and I was able to share how the Lord has worked in my life in those areas! I hope there were some seeds planted tonight. Before I leave we are going to exchange contact info and they said that they would like to come and visit America someday, so I told I could help to arrange things when they come.

Tomorrow we are going to church at the schools chapel, then the rest of the day is free. Then a busy 3 days of working this next week to get it all done and then I leave from the airport in Joberg on Thursday! 

In this picture Dan and Sonny are cutting down the old exterior doors to use in the toilet stalls as doors. The dust you see coming out of the windows of the restrooms is from four guys that have grinders and they are grinding off the old paint and scoring the concrete so that the new tiles going on the walls and floor have something to hold on to.

You can see the new doors getting painted the primer coat. The roof on the building that is very shiney is what Lee and I did yesterday.

This is Stan cutting some tile. Stan and his wife Julie organized the people together for this trip. They take people on building trips such as this 7-10 times a year to different parts of the world.

You can see 3 of the 13 new doors that are going to be put on. The guy in the black shirt is Pastor Cliff. It is from his church that most of the people on the team have come from. Pastor Cliff and his wife having been pastoring at their church for 25 years and for that, the church gave them some money and asked what they wanted to do with it. They said that they wanted to come and remodel these buildings at the Bible college.

This is one of the dorm rooms with the new tile installed, they had started grouting back in the corner. All 10 dorm rooms have been tiled now and half of them are grouted.

This is where I have been spending the last couple of days. We got the old perlins ripped off of this building. got the new ones put on and the ceiling insulated. The guy in the white cap, Lee from North Carolina, and I got half of the new roof put on today on this building.

Oh my, Oh my!! Well the team is here and you can tell because I have been so busy that I haven't had time to break away to the Internet! Like I said it is a great team that the Lord put together, mostly everyone is from California. There is one from Virginia, Michigan, and North Carolina, so a little bit from all over. Yesterday was a little hectic getting everyone started and getting enough for everyone to keep busy. There was a few things , OK, a lot of things that we had forgotten so between Steve and I we were constantly going to the store to get items and material. But between yesterday and today we have gotten the roof torn off of one of the dorm buildings, we got all the new ceilings up in one of the dorm building, all the insulation in the ceiling, and over half the rooms have the tile down on the floor! Tomorrow morning a couple of the guys and I are going to put the new roof on the dorm building. 

It is great just having fellowship while working, finding out where they come from and how the Lord and why the Lord has brought them to Africa. They are all great and are nice to talk with! 

I have moved into a different place since the team has arrived, I have 4 roommates and so that is nice to, having someone to talk with in the evenings.

Please continue to pray for the teams safety while working, that the Lord would help us to accomplish what he wants to accomplish in these next several days, at the school on the buildings, and in the hearts of the team members and myself. 

One last thing the food that they have been making here for us at lunch and supper is really good! Getting spoiled! Haha

It has been cold and rainy here the last couple of days. I hope that the rain is going to be stopping before Monday, because a lot of the work to be done first is outside, so be praying for nice weather! We were busy all day today buying the tiling material and construction materials. I think we are going to have everything done and ready at a point we were needing to get to! It is going to be a busy and fast week and half!

Well I have been in Africa for 1 month now. For the most part the time has gone by quickly. The last week and half or so has been somewhat lonely in the evenings but last night the first of the team showed up. Five of the leaders/missionaries arrived and got moved in. Today we went out to the school and I showed them what I had been doing and what is still needing to be done. We are still in the prep mode until Sunday when the rest of the 25 people on the team show up! Today and tomorrow we are getting the floors and walls ready for tile and then on Saturday we will be doing a buying frenzy of the material needed. It is a holiday here today, Thursday, and Friday so all the stores are closed so that isn't working out the best for us but there isn't much we can do about that. Be praying for the team that is coming here, they will be leaving the States on Saturday to fly here. It is so nice having company now to talk with while working and in the evenings! Well that is all for now, I leave two weeks from Today!

Yesterday and today I have been cleaning the three buildings that are getting renovated. On Monday all day I was using a pressure washer that I had rented. There was old paint chipping, soap scum in the showers, and some mold, so I got all of that cleaned off. By the time the day was over I was soaked with water and had paint chips all over me!

Today I sprayed out the two dorm buildings and started taking up the old tile. I had started taking up the old tile in one of the rooms and then I went back to spraying the other rooms, when I was done with that I shut the machine off and I could hear something going on down in one of the other rooms. I went down and found the kids in the pictures above scrapping up the tile. They had the one room almost completely done! They then stayed with me and helped me scrape up and clean three more rooms! What great workers they are! The boys were putting all that they had into it. It really blessed me because I had been doing most of the work alone up until this point because everyone else on campus has been busy doing other things, so it was nice to have some company and speed things along. They asked if I would be working there tomorrow, they want to come and help again!

This picture is from on Sunday in Mafikeng at one of the churches that I visited with Bill and Susan. It is only 3 weeks old and the man standing in front is the pastor. It was really great on Sunday, I got to go to two different churches that Bill and Susan minister to. I also got to see where they run their pre-school and after school programs. Then we drove through a couple of villages and visited with some of the people that they minister to. It was great to get out of Rustenburg and do some driving in South Africa and see the beautiful scenery and get to spend the day with some friends.
